Dr Gary Sharples is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University, specializing in antimicrobial agents and bacterial genetics. He holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham and has conducted extensive research on bacterial genome rearrangements, antimicrobial surfaces, and metal chelation. His work bridges microbiology, chemistry, and materials science, with collaborations involving Procter & Gamble and LightOx Ltd.
