Gary Metzker

Gary Metzker is a full-time Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Journalism & Public Relations. He serves as a design adviser for student publications including the Daily 49er and DIG Magazine.

• Education: BA in Journalism from the University of Missouri; MA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Metczer’s expertise spans journalism, public relations, news design, and media education. His career includes significant contributions to breaking news and spot news through leadership roles at major newspapers like the Los Angeles Times.
