Professor Gary Lock holds a Chair in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bath's Department of Mechanical Engineering, leading the Turbomachinery Research Centre. He has served as Head of Department (2015) and previously held roles at Oriel College, University of Oxford (1991-1995). His research focuses on gas turbine technology, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, emphasizing practical engineering applications. He is a recipient of the National Teaching Fellowship (2011) and multiple American Society of Mechanical Engineers awards (2023-2025).
