Gary Guth

Gary Guth is a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at Stanford University, part of the School of Humanities and Sciences. He joined in 2023-24 as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow. His office is located in Building 380, Room 383-A.

Education:

• PhD in Mathematics, University of Oregon (2023).

Research Focus: Gary's work centers on low-dimensional topology, particularly four-manifolds and surfaces embedded within them, alongside Floer theory and Heegaard Floer homology. His dissertation, titled Ribbons, Satellites, and Exotic Phenomena Via Heegaard Floer Homology, reflects these interests.
