Garret Ridinger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Nevada, Reno. His research focuses on behavioral economics, game theory, and experimental economics, with applications to strategic management and political economy. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC Irvine (2016), an M.A. from California State University, Fullerton (2011), and a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara (2007).
His work has been supported by grants from the Army Research Office and UC Irvine, and he has received multiple teaching awards including the 2021 Willem Houwink Memorial Award. He has advised doctoral students in economics and management and serves on various academic committees at UNR. His experimental research spans topics like vaccine intentions during pandemics, investor behavior during market crashes, and the role of theory-of-mind in cooperative games.
Ridinger has presented at conferences including the Economic Science Association and Southwest Experimental and Behavioral Economics meetings. He teaches courses in strategic management, behavioral game theory, and managerial decision-making, integrating experimental methodologies into his pedagogy.
