James Sundali is a Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Nevada, Reno, with a focus on judgment and decision making, behavioral finance, and behavioral economics. He has taught at the university since 1997, serving as Graduate Director of the Ph.D. program in Business Administration with a concentration in Management since 2014. His teaching includes strategic management, decision-making and negotiation, and managerial decision-making seminars.

- MBA and BS in Economics from California Polytechnic State University
His research explores behavioral finance, asset allocation, and decision-making under uncertainty, often using experimental methods. Key themes include the impact of social interactions, early investment experiences, and cognitive biases like the gambler's fallacy. He has authored over 20 publications, including empirical studies on slot machine gambling, market crashes, and retirement account decisions.
Scientific awards include induction into the Business Strategy Game Hall of Fame. He also leads a summer travel course, "Leadership Insights from the Humanities," in New York City.
