Dr. Gareth J. Bennett is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. He holds a B.A.I. (1994), M.Sc. (1996), and Ph.D. (2006) from Trinity College Dublin. His research focuses on Sound, Vibration, Aeroacoustics, Engineering Design, and Engineering Education. He coordinates EU FP7 collaborative projects and managed a FP5 EU project (Silencer) from 2002-2007. He currently advises six graduate students.

He pioneered curriculum reforms in project-based design education at TCD, earning the university’s top teaching award. Current research includes medical device design and aeroacoustic engineering.
