Gareth Hudson is a Senior Lecturer in the Moving Image at the University of Huddersfield, affiliated with the Department of Media, Humanities and the Arts within the School of Arts and Humanities. He is a member of the Centre for Cultural Ecologies in Art, Design and Architecture and the Centre for Experimental Practices (CXP).
His research explores intersections of human spirituality, affect, and exceptional experience through lens-based media, installations, and soundscapes. Key interests include the sublime in philosophy and practice, art-science collaborations, and non-traditional art venues. Supported by institutions like the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Arts Council England, his work has been exhibited globally across 20+ countries.
