Ganga Bey

Ganga Bey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is affiliated with multiple research centers including the Carolina Population Center, Carolina Center for Population Aging and Health, and the Columbia Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Alzheimer's Disease.

Her research bridges geroscience and intersectionality theory to investigate how modifiable psychosocial factors mediate health impacts of chronic social stressors, particularly in marginalized populations. She focuses on epigenetic mechanisms, structural inequity, and disparate aging rates across the life-course, with applications to cardiovascular health and cognitive aging.

Key contributions include examining neighborhood disadvantage and identity characteristics as modifiers of aging trajectories, supported by her National Institute on Aging K99/R00 award.
