Galia Cohen is an Assistant Professor and Department Head in the Public Administration Department at Tarleton State University (Fort Worth, Texas). She holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas (2014), an M.S. in Organizational Sociology from Bar-Ilan University (2008), and a B.A. in Psychology with a Biology minor from Bar-Ilan University (2001).
- Research Focus: Law enforcement ethics, police training curriculum development, inter-jurisdictional collaboration, and organizational behavior in public agencies.
- Service: Active in the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), serving on its National Council (2016–Present) and as District V Representative. Chair of the Founders Fellows Committee (2017–2020), and editorial roles in Public Administration Review and Review of Public Personnel Administration.
Her recent work examines the ethical use of power in policing, employee engagement strategies, and the integration of diversity training in law enforcement curricula. She has delivered numerous workshops for agencies like the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) and consulted on state-mandated disability training programs.
Key Collaborations: Involves partnerships with the Richardson Police Department, Institute for Predictive Analytics in Criminal Justice (IPAC), and TCOLE 3939 Cultural Diversity Committee. She contributes to academic governance through roles like the University of Texas at Dallas Academic Senate.
