Gail Towsley, PhD, is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing. As a gerontologist and licensed nursing home administrator, she focuses on interdisciplinary applied aging research to improve palliative care in long-term care (LTC) settings. Her innovative work includes developing Me & My Wishes - a video-based communication system for documenting resident care preferences.
Her research spans critical areas in end-of-life care, care coordination, health disparities, and communication training for healthcare staff. She has led studies on virtual care conferences for dementia patients, legacy value documentation for older adults, and social model hospice care for homeless populations.
