Gael CORON

Gael CORON is a Professor at EHESP School of Public Health, affiliated with the Department of Human and Social Sciences. He is a member of the Arenes laboratory (UMR CNRS 6051) and the Emile Durkheim center (UMR CNRS 5116).

Professor CORON's research focuses on the Europeanization of health systems, social policies, and social protection. His work examines the influence of the European Union on retirement systems, health insurance, and unemployment insurance, with particular attention to public policy dynamics and medico-social care structures. He analyzes community construction effects on social policies through sociological and political science frameworks.

His scientific awards include:

• Jean Monnet Chair for European Health Policies and Cross-Cutting Objectives (PESSOA) 2019-2023
• Coordinator of the Jean Monnet module of excellence for European integration in the health, medico-social and social sectors at EHESP 2014-2017

Professor CORON actively supervises doctoral and Master's students through individual dissertation guidance and collective research training. His teaching covers Europeanization, financialization, and marketing of health systems, sociology of public action, and EU policy implementation across public health programs.

He co-leads axis 3 "Public action, democracy and territories in transition" at Arenes laboratory and serves on Rennes 2 University's research commission and the French Sociology Association's thematic network "Social policies, social protection and solidarity" (RT6).
