Gabrielle Radica is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Lille, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Philosophy Department. Her career includes roles as Lecturer at the University of Picardy-Jules Verne (2007-2018) and academic positions since 1997. She holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Nantes (2003) and completed studies at École Normale Supérieure (ENS-Ulm, 1991-1997).
Her research focuses on 18th-century philosophy, particularly Rousseau and Montesquieu, exploring themes like citizenship, family ethics, legal philosophy, and political morality. She has authored over 70 publications, including articles on Rousseau’s Emile, Montesquieu’s family views, and Enlightenment-era legal thought.
Radica teaches courses on philosophy of law, Enlightenment thought, and political theory. She has supervised multiple PhD students and held administrative roles such as Vice-Dean of Research at Lille and member of the National Council of Universities (CNU). Her work bridges historical philosophy with contemporary social and ethical issues.
