Dr. Gabrielle E. Lindstrom (Tsa'piinak,i, Kainai Nation, Blackfoot Confederacy) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at Mount Royal University. She holds a PhD in Educational Research with a specialization in Adult Learning from the University of Calgary (2018), an MA in Native American Studies from the University of Lethbridge (2011), and a BA in English from the same institution (2007). Her teaching focuses on First Nations, Métis, and Inuit history/current issues, Indigenous Studies across global perspectives, cross-cultural pedagogies, and Indigenous research methodologies.

Research Focus: Dr. Lindstrom’s work explores trauma and resilience in Indigenous adult learners’ postsecondary experiences, anti-colonial theory, anti-racist pedagogy, and Indigenous community-based research. She also investigates meaningful assessment practices in higher education, Indigenous homelessness, and reform of parenting assessment tools in child welfare systems.
Labs/Teams: Engaged in collaborative projects with Indigenous communities, emphasizing participatory research and decolonizing academic practices.
