Gabrielle Jennings is an artist, writer, and educator based in Los Angeles, currently serving as an Instructor and Associate Chair in the MFA Art program at ArtCenter College of Design. With a career spanning over three decades, her practice investigates the collective unconscious through gif-videos, artist’s books, and found poetry, often engaging with environmental themes and cultural nostalgia.
Education:
- BFA in Art from the University of California, San Diego
- Studies in Film and Critical Studies at Paris-Sorbonne University
- MFA in Art from ArtCenter College of Design
Jennings’ recent projects include Silent Spring Redux, a video homage to Rachel Carson’s environmental legacy, and her solo exhibition Country Roads at MiM Gallery, which critiques 1970s counterculture movements through a contemporary lens. Her work has been exhibited internationally, with residencies at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin and 200 Gertrude Street Artist Spaces in Melbourne.

In 2023, she edited the critical anthology Abstract Video: The Moving Image in Contemporary Art, published by University of California Press, which examines abstraction in moving image arts.
