Professor Gabriella Conti is a Professor of Economics at University College London (UCL), Department of Economics, and a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, CEPR, CESifo, and IZA Bonn. Her work focuses on health economics, human development, and the biological underpinnings of economic behavior. She examines the impacts of policies on health inequalities, particularly for women and children, using innovative data sources like biomarkers and administrative records. Key areas include evaluations of early childhood interventions such as Sure Start in the UK, Perry Preschool in the US, and programs in India, Mexico, and Ecuador. Her research has policy implications for public health, education, and social welfare. Conti holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Essex and has held positions at the University of Chicago before joining UCL in 2013. She has received prestigious awards, including the Philip Leverhulme Prize and the ERC Consolidator Grant. Her work is frequently cited in top journals and media, including Science, Lancet, and The New York Times.
