Gabriella Buffa

Dr. Gabriella Buffa is a Full Professor of Plant Ecology at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Statistics, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She specializes in plant communities ecology, landscape ecology, and biodiversity conservation. Her teaching includes courses such as 'Plant Biology,' 'Ecological Network and Biodiversity Conservation,' and 'Vegetation Science and Landscape Ecology.'

Her research focuses on in-situ/ex-situ conservation, seed germination techniques, ecological indices, and Natura 2000 habitat management. She collaborates with regional bodies like the Veneto Region, Veneto Agricoltura, and Venice Municipality on ecological network planning and agroforestry projects. She has held visiting scholar positions in Austria, France, Spain, and Italy.
