Gabriel Gual Crespí

Gabriel Gual Crespí serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy within the Nursing and Physiotherapy School at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). With over two decades of clinical experience since 2002, he combines academic teaching with active clinical practice, having taught at multiple Spanish universities including UAB, URL, UdG, UIC, and UIB.

Research Interests: Dr. Gual specializes in musculoskeletal injuries with particular expertise in tendinopathies. His doctoral research focused on chronic patellar tendinopathy in athletes and the effects of eccentric overload strength training. His clinical and academic work integrates ultrasound evaluation, percutaneous electrolysis, and evidence-based therapeutic exercise protocols for effective rehabilitation of both acute and chronic conditions.

Teaching Responsibilities: For the 2025-26 academic year, he teaches General Anatomy and Biomechanics of Human Movement for the Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, and Movement Physiotherapy for the Physiotherapy Degree. His teaching history over the past five years includes General Physiotherapy Procedures I and II across multiple academic years.

Clinical Practice: As director of the FisioGual physiotherapy center in Palma (Mallorca), Dr. Gual implements his comprehensive four-step methodology: diagnosis, education, treatment, and prevention. His clinic features advanced equipment including musculoskeletal ultrasound systems and percutaneous electrolysis devices, making it one of the first specialized centers of its kind in Mallorca.
