Prof. Günter Poethke (1939–2020) served as Adjunct Professor of Papyrology at Humboldt University in Berlin. His primary research focused on Greek papyri and ancient textual analysis. He held roles as a research associate (1962) and curator (1977) at Berlin's Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection, part of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
