Annika Mayer

Annika Mayer is a researcher in the Department III - Papyrology at the University of Trier. Her work focuses on the intersection of classical philology, ancient history, and papyrology, particularly within Hellenistic and Greco-Roman contexts.

Her research interests include the legitimation of rule in Ancient Macedonia, Greco-Roman Egypt, and the philological-historical analysis of Greek historians. She contributes to the digitization and interpretation of ancient papyrus texts through the PapyHyp project at Trier.

Mayer's recent publications highlight her expertise in Ptolemaic and Late Antique papyri, with studies on administrative documents, epistolary practices, and philosophical debates about vegetarianism in antiquity.
