Assoc. Prof. FİGEN DEMİR is an Associate Professor at Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University, School of Medicine, Department of Medical Sciences. She has held academic positions since 2002, progressing from Research Assistant at Marmara University to her current role as Associate Professor at Acibadem University since 2017. She also serves in numerous administrative capacities including Ethics Committee Member, Member of University Quality Commission, and several curriculum development boards.
Her educational background includes a Medical Professor degree (1990-1998), Expertise in Medicine (2002-2008), and a Master of Science in Public Health with thesis (2004-2007), all from Marmara University. She teaches across multiple levels including Doctorate courses in Health Research and Advanced Analysis Methods, Postgraduate courses in Research Planning in Health Sciences, and Undergraduate courses in Epidemiology, Evidence-Based Medicine, and Health and Society.
Prof. DEMİR's research spans public health, epidemiology, and medical education. Her work focuses on non-communicable diseases, health policy, medical ethics, and health research methodology. Recent publications examine HPV screening methods, breast cancer biomarkers, medical student migration from Turkey, and changing prevalence of NAFLD in Turkey. Her research often addresses critical public health challenges in the Turkish context with implications for health policy and practice.

Prof. DEMİR actively participates in academic service as an editor for Türkiye Halk Sağlığı Dergisi and serves on committees for major national public health congresses. Her scholarly contributions extend to book chapters on rare diseases, chronic disease risk factors, and pandemic epidemiology.
