She holds concurrent positions as Assistant Professor at Boğaziçi University (Translation and Interpreting Studies) and Visiting Lecturer at Medizinische Universität Wien (Neurophysiology). Her research focuses on epilepsy pathophysiology, neuropharmacology, and ion channel mechanisms. She completed her PhD in Pharmacology at Marmara University (2018) and has extensive postdoctoral experience in Europe.
Dr. Yavuz's research emphasizes hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels, Rho-kinase inhibitors, and alpha-2 adrenergic receptor modulation in absence epilepsy models. She has published 59+ papers (WoS), with an H-index of 32. Her work includes developing novel seizure detection algorithms and investigating neuroprotective agents like thymoquinone.
She serves on editorial boards (e.g., Acıbadem Sağlık Bilimleri Dergisi) and holds leadership roles in ethics committees at Acibadem University. Awards include the 2021 Esat Eşkazan Prize and multiple presentation awards. Her teaching spans pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and drug metabolism at undergraduate and graduate levels.
