Funda Terzi is an Associate Professor at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in Veterinary Pathology. She has held this full-time position since 2018, following previous roles as a Research Assistant at Selçuk University (2013-2018) and Dicle University (2011-2013). Her administrative responsibilities include serving as Head of the Department (2022-present), Deputy Director of the Research Application Center (2021-present), and Bologna Coordinator (2022-present).
Dr. Terzi's research focuses on veterinary pathology with emphasis on immunohistochemical diagnostics, oxidative stress mechanisms, and infectious disease pathogenesis in livestock. Her investigations span respiratory infections, toxicological pathology (especially mycotoxins and drug-induced injuries), and therapeutic interventions using antioxidants and immunomodulators.
Her recent publications (2022-2024) demonstrate strong trends in multi-modal diagnostic validation, molecular pathology of zoonotic diseases, and experimental therapeutics using rodent and aquaculture models. Research consistently integrates histopathology with molecular techniques to elucidate disease mechanisms and evaluate treatment efficacy.
She has led or participated in 17 research projects, including TÜBİTAK-funded work on maternal obesity mechanisms and BAP-supported studies on respiratory viruses in ruminants and mycotoxin countermeasures. Current collaborations involve researchers from Selçuk University and Kastamonu University across pathology, aquaculture, and biochemistry disciplines.
