Prof. Dr. Slađan Nešić is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade. He teaches General Pathology (14I3O05) and Special Pathology (14I3O07) courses to veterinary medicine students.
Dr. Nešić's research focuses on veterinary pathology with particular emphasis on:
- Canine and feline diseases, especially neoplastic conditions and neurological disorders
- Comparative pathology across various animal species including domestic and wild animals
- Diagnostic histopathology and immunohistochemical techniques
- Epidemiology of animal diseases in Serbia
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on canine cutaneous tumors, neurological conditions in aging dogs, infectious diseases in wildlife, and pathological conditions across various animal species. His work combines traditional histopathological methods with modern immunohistochemical techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy and understanding of disease mechanisms in animals. Notable research includes studies on wooden breast condition in poultry, cerebral amyloid angiopathy in elderly dogs, and distemper virus in red foxes.
Dr. Nešić has contributed significantly to veterinary pathology literature in Serbia, with numerous publications in Acta Veterinaria-Beograd and other veterinary journals. His research spans both companion animals and livestock, addressing important clinical and diagnostic challenges in veterinary medicine.
