Professor Enver BEYTUT is a distinguished academic at Kafkas University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, serving in the Department of Preclinical Sciences since 2009. He previously held positions as Associate Professor (2003-2009) and Assistant Professor (1997-2003) at the same institution. His academic leadership includes roles as Department Head (2011-), Vice Dean (2004-2005), and Institute Deputy Director (2003-2004).
Dr. BEYTUT earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Pathology from Fırat University's Institute of Health Sciences (1996) following his Veterinary Medicine degree from Istanbul University (1988). His educational foundation was further strengthened by an English language certification (KPDS, 74) in 1997.
His research program centers on veterinary pathology with particular expertise in immunohistochemical techniques applied to animal diseases. His work extensively examines pulmonary adenocarcinomas in sheep, ocular squamous cell carcinomas in cattle, brucellosis pathology, and papillomavirus infections across multiple species. His laboratory employs advanced molecular and immunohistochemical methodologies to investigate disease pathogenesis, oxidative stress markers, and tumor biology.
Analysis of his 15 most recent publications reveals a consistent focus on immunohistochemical assessment of disease mechanisms, particularly in ruminant species. His work frequently examines cytokine profiles, oxidative stress markers (MDA, 8-OHdG), and tumor markers (p53, PCNA, MMP-9) across various pathological conditions including viral infections, neoplasms, and bacterial diseases.
Professor BEYTUT has successfully supervised numerous graduate students, including Hilmi Nuhoğlu (PhD, 2023), Betül Kavas (MSc, 2023), Aslı Güneş (MSc, 2021), and Hatice Beşeren (MSc, 2019). His research program has been supported by 21 projects, primarily through Higher Education Council-funded scientific research projects, where he has served as both principal investigator and researcher.
His laboratory maintains active collaborations with researchers across Turkey, particularly with Dr. Emin Karakurt (55 joint publications) and Dr. Serpil Dağ (54 joint publications). The research team specializes in immunohistochemical techniques, molecular pathology, and histopathological analysis of animal diseases, with particular expertise in ruminant pathology.
