Friedrich Wilhelm Rödding

Friedrich Wilhelm Rödding is a Visiting Professor and Lecturer at the Robert Schumann University of Music Düsseldorf's Institute for Music and Media. He teaches Musical Acoustics (since 2019) and serves as Visiting Professor for Artistic Music Production (since winter 2021/22). Rödding studied musicology and sound engineering at Detmold University of Music, graduating in 1991.

His research focuses on:

• Advanced audio recording techniques
• Three-dimensional music reproduction systems
• Acoustic properties of performance spaces
• High-fidelity music production workflows

Rödding received industry recognition including the German Record Critics' Award and over 30 ECHO Klassik awards, notably the 2015 ECHO for his multi-channel recording of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé.
