Friederike Hartz

Friederike Hartz is a researcher at the Department of Political Science, School of Social and Historical Sciences, University College London. She contributes to the ERC-funded project The Politics of Climate Change Loss and Damage (CCLAD), led by Professor Lisa Vanhala, with a focus on non-economic loss negotiations for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Recent publications include a forthcoming article in Global Environmental Politics (2023) on climate change loss orthographies and a co-authored paper in Geographica Helvetica (2023) applying phenomenological methods to loss and damage. These works highlight interdisciplinary intersections between climate justice, policy analysis, and environmental ethics.
