Dr. Frederik Dilling is a researcher in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty IV at the University of Siegen, specializing in the didactics of mathematics. He is actively involved in multiple innovative projects integrating digital technologies into mathematics education, including 3D printing, AI, and diagnostic consultation frameworks.
His research interests focus on enhancing mathematics learning through digital tools, particularly 3D printing technology, which allows students to create tactile models of mathematical concepts. He contributes to projects such as KIMADU NRW, AI@school, Authentic Optimizing, DigiMath4Edu, and Inter TeTra, where he leads the mathematics component. His work emphasizes practical implementation in school settings, teacher training, and developing didactically sound, curriculum-aligned teaching materials.
Dr. Dilling has participated in and led training sessions for educators on using 3D printing in math classrooms and has been involved in pilot implementations at schools like Freudenberg Comprehensive School. His efforts aim to make advanced technologies accessible and beneficial for both teachers and students in everyday mathematics instruction.
He is also associated with the diagnostic consultation initiative, which supports children, parents, and teachers dealing with math difficulties by providing individualized diagnostic and intervention units.
