Dr. Frederick Aardema is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine. He directs the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Research Laboratory (LRTOC) at the Montreal Mental Health University Institute Research Center (CR-IUSMM), focusing on integrating clinical psychology, experimental psychology, and behavioral change research to advance OCD treatment. His work includes large-scale online randomized controlled trials comparing inference-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (I-CBT) to exposure and response prevention (ERP), funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). He also leads an upcoming CIHR-funded trial (2024) targeting treatment-resistant OCD cases.
