Professor Frederic Wang is a University Professor at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Inalco), specializing in Chinese studies. He currently serves as Deputy Vice President for Training in charge of licenses, LAS, and establishment diplomas (since July 1, 2025), demonstrating his leadership within the institution.
Professor Wang's research focuses on the History of Chinese philosophy, Confucianism and neo-Confucianism, Intellectual history of ancient and pre-modern China, and the Formation and interpretations of the Confucian classics. His specific interests include Philosophy of qi and Intuitionism, which he explores through the IFRAE research team.
His recent publications (2022-2024) show a consistent output in high-impact journals like Diogenes, with a focus on Chinese intellectual history, Confucian thought, and comparative philosophical analysis. His work spans both Western-language publications and contributions to East Asian academic journals.
