Galy Laurent

Galy Laurent is a Lecturer in Chinese studies at Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), specializing in Chinese language and history.

Dr. Laurent's research focuses on several key areas of Chinese history:

• Urban History of China (particularly Tianjin)
• Political History of China in the 19th and 20th Centuries
• Military History of China
• Japanese Historiography of China

Dr. Laurent is affiliated with the IFRAE research team and has significant administrative responsibilities within the department, serving as Head of the teaching committee of the Chinese studies department and as a Member of the L1 jury.

Dr. Laurent's expertise falls under CNU Discipline 15, which covers Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew languages and literatures, and other linguistic fields, with a specific focus on Asian studies.
