Dr. Frederic Evers is a Lecturer and Senior Assistant at ETH Zurich's Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. He holds a Doctorate from ETH Zurich (2013-2017), a Master of Science in Management (2024, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign), and advanced engineering degrees from KIT Karlsruhe. His career includes roles as Research Engineer at RWTH Aachen (2012-2013) and Postgraduate Research Assistant at KIT (2011).
Research focuses on hydrology, hydropower innovation, and sustainable water infrastructure. Key projects include HydroAUV (turbidity currents study), STORE Subproject 1 (hydropower storage flexibility), and SedVent (sediment venting strategies). He contributes to dam safety via composite modeling of dam breaching and investigates fish passage solutions for low-head hydropower systems.
- Membership: Swiss Committee on Dams (2021), Water Agenda 21 Steering Committee (2023)
- Awards: Culmann Award (2019), Editor's Choice Paper (2019), JMSE Travel Award (2018)
He advises projects like Sustainable Storage Hydropower and leads studies on impulse waves at shallow angles. His work bridges engineering innovation with environmental stewardship in energy systems.
