Dr. Fred Morley (1918-2001) was a distinguished researcher in veterinary science and agricultural systems at Charles Sturt University, honored through the naming of the Fred Morley Centre. His groundbreaking research spanned animal genetics, pasture plant improvements, and agricultural systems analysis, with over 120 scientific publications establishing foundational work in Merino sheep breeding and clover/lucerne genetics.
His legacy includes five scientific academy fellowships, the Australian Veterinary Association's highest honor (Gilruth Prize), and the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science Medal. The Fred Morley Centre continues his mission of improving livestock productivity through critical applied research.
