Fraser Craig

Fraser Craig is a Lecturer at the School of Health and Life Sciences, University of the West of Scotland. He transitioned to academia in 2022 after 19 years in the National Health Service (NHS), where he worked as a Biomedical Scientist specializing in Haematology, Coagulation, and Blood Transfusion at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (Yorkhill) and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). His career included 15-week NHS placement mentoring for university students, which sparked his interest in academic teaching.

• MSc Biomedical Science from Glasgow Caledonian University, completed during NHS service.

Research interests focus on bridging clinical practice with education, particularly in biomedical science training and laboratory service optimization. He aims to pursue a PhD while advancing his academic role. His NHS experience includes validating new laboratory equipment at QEUH and collaborating with medical consultants in Haematology and Oncology.
