Françoise Le Lièvre is a Lecturer in Language Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Angers (UCO). She holds a Doctorate in Language Sciences from the University of Tours (2008) and is qualified by the National Council of Universities (CNU) in Section 07 for Linguistics. Her research focuses on sociolinguistics, language teaching (particularly English), and multilingualism in contact zones. She has collaborated on the scientific committee for the international conference 'Language and Territory' in Canada and contributed to the Human Sciences Monographic Series.
Her academic work examines language practices and policies in multilingual contexts, including the role of English in French universities and the intersection of language with identity and education. She teaches courses on comparative linguistics, language policies, and translation at undergraduate and graduate levels across various programs (M2 FLE, IPSA, etc.).
Her recent publications address the impact of English as a medium of instruction in higher education, Francophone linguistic development in African contexts, and sociolinguistic dimensions of multilingualism. She co-organized the 2019 POCLANDE Congress on linguistics for development and participates in the CoDiRe research laboratory focusing on social language practices and identity studies.
