François Feillet is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nancy, and a Praticien Hospitalier (PH) at the Children's Medicine Department of Brabois University Hospital. He specializes in metabolic diseases, particularly phenylketonuria (PKU), organic acidurias, and rare diseases linked to metal metabolism.
- Head, Reference Center for Hereditary Metabolic Diseases (since 2006)
- Former Head, Child Medicine Department (2015–2019)
- Former teaching responsibility for pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine of Nancy (2006–2019)
Research Interests include evaluating metabolic control in PKU patients, studying cataplerosis in organic acidurias/Septic Shock, and developing nanoclusters (copper, iron, manganese) for therapeutic applications in rare diseases like Menkes disease, CDG, and MELAS syndrome. Current projects focus on leucine supplementation in mitochondrial disorders.
Doctoral Supervision:
- Audrey Malarde: Copper nanoclusters in Menkes disease
- Noémie Cammiciotto: Cataplerosis in organic acidurias/Septic Shock
- Zeinab Alsahly: Iron nanoclusters in iron deficiency
Laboratory Affiliations: Functional Genomics Platform, Bioinformatics/Biostatistics sector (Bio Data Center), and Cell Cultures/Molecular Biology platforms at Brabois University Hospital.
