معرفی
Dr. Franziska Hagelstein is a leading researcher in theoretical nuclear and particle physics, currently serving as Head of the Emmy Noether Young Investigator Group at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (since 2022) and a SNSF Ambizione Fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) until 2024. She obtained her PhD in Theoretical Physics from Mainz University (2014–2017) and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Bern (2017–2020) and PSI. Her work focuses on precision calculations in hadronic physics, including dispersion relations, chiral perturbation theory, and muon-based experiments.
Her research explores muonic atoms (e.g., muonic hydrogen and deuterium), hadronic contributions to the muon g-2 anomaly, and nucleon structure. Key contributions include advancements in understanding hyperfine splitting, Lamb shift calculations, and radiative corrections. She leads experimental collaborations such as MUSE and contributes to the MuCap experiment. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges theory and experiment, with a focus on precision measurements to test Standard Model predictions.
Dr. Hagelstein advises PhD students like Vladyslava Sharkovska and Sotiris Pitelis, and collaborates with institutions like PSI, CERN, and international teams. Her group at Mainz University and PSI advances theoretical frameworks for particle and nuclear physics experiments.
