معرفی
Franziska Bollerey serves as Professor in the School of Architecture and the Built Environment within the Department of History, Form & Aesthetics, focusing on cultural intersections of architecture and urban development. Her work examines societal structures through historical lenses, particularly metropolitan evolution and utopian spatial concepts.
Research centers on Culture and society, History of Urbanism, Utopian concepts, Metropolitan cities, and Architecture of the 1920s, with growing emphasis on domestic spaces, political symbolism in Cold War urbanism, and material culture of play. Recent investigations analyze children's environments, glass construction technologies, and media representations of architectural heritage.
Current publications reveal cohesive exploration of play theory in architectural design, Cold War-era Berlin urban planning, and 1920s spatial aesthetics, connecting historical analysis with contemporary design discourse through interdisciplinary frameworks spanning cultural history and material studies.
Professor Bollerey actively mentors 19 students while contributing to academic governance as committee member at RWTH Aachen University (since June 2025) and editor of Eselsohren journal (2019), with ongoing conference leadership including Trienniale der Moderne 2023.
