His research focuses on qualitative analysis of structural change and social innovation, poverty and welfare systems, sociology of violence and conflict, and sociology of religion with emphasis on thanatology. Current projects include the BePart initiative (2022-2025) involving Zittau-Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and neo.NET eV, examining social innovations in transformation processes. Recent publications analyze labeling in transformation contexts (2025), Lusatia's structural change (2024), and methodological debates in sociology (2024). He actively contributes to academic discourse through invited lectures on poverty, identity politics, and social innovation at institutions including University of Hamburg, University of Leipzig, and international conferences.
