Max Barnewitz serves as a Lecturer at the University of Siegen's Department of Social Science Education within the Faculty of Social Sciences, and as a Research Associate since May 2024. He coordinates both the FORUM Siegen and Wednesday Academy programs, which offer academic introductions and in-depth studies across multiple disciplines including sociology, philosophy, and political education.
His academic background includes a Master's degree in 'Social Sciences – Conflicts in Politics and Society' from the University of Augsburg (2019-2023), complemented by an Erasmus semester at Andrássy University Budapest in 2021. Since 2017, he has engaged in freelance political education work through the Bavarian Political Education Network.
Specializing in Radical Democracy Theories, Mr. Barnewitz critically examines (Un)Democratic Culture(s) of Debate and develops innovative approaches to Critical Political Education. His teaching portfolio includes 'Introduction to the Didactics of Political Education' at University of Siegen and 'Sociological Foundations' at OTH Regensburg, with upcoming courses exploring 'Perspectives of Radical Democratic Theories on Contemporary Problems' at the Wednesday Academy.
