Frank Zhu is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, and serves as a Senior Technology Fellow at Honeywell UOP. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide. His research focuses on molecular analysis, process optimization, and sustainable innovation, integrating quantum chemistry with mathematical modeling. He pioneered the Engineering Innovation Group at Honeywell UOP, driving advancements in refining and petrochemical processes.
His work is supported by industry leaders like ExxonMobil, Shell, and AspenTech. Zhu has authored over 100 articles, 70 patents, and four books, including an upcoming title on digitalization for smart plant performance. He has received prestigious awards for technical leadership and innovation.
