Frank Vanecek, DBA, is a Professor at Norwich University's Senator Patrick Leahy School of Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing, Department of Computer Security and Information Assurance. With 47 years of dedicated service, he has held roles including Department Chair, Dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Technology. Currently teaching full-time, he emphasizes academic rigor and ethical leadership.
- Education: BS in Computer Science (University of Dayton), MS in Computer Science (WPI), DBA (Kent State University)
Dr. Vanecek's research interests focus on cybersecurity, information assurance, and the intersection of computer science with business administration. His career spans curriculum development in computer science and fostering international academic collaborations.
Scientific Awards:
- Malone Fellowship by the National Council on U.S./Arab Relations for research/lecture work in Tunisia (1989)
He has secured grants such as the U.S. Department of the Interior-funded computer/accounting training program in the Pacific Islands. His leadership in academic administration included overseeing the integration of Vermont College students into Norwich's Northfield campus in the 1990s.
