Frank Schinzel is an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico and a Scientist at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). His roles include interference protection at the Very Large Array and Very Long Baseline Array, and spectrum management coordination at national/international levels. He contributes to radio astronomy instrumentation and full-polarization calibration techniques.

His research spans relativistic outflows from supermassive black holes, cross-wavelength studies of radio and gamma-ray skies, and optimization of sky surveys. He specializes in polarimetric observations and interferometer calibration/imaging methods.
As part of NRAO, he leads the New Mexico Interference Protection Group and contributes to the National Spectrum Strategy, ensuring protection of radio astronomy frequencies from interference.
