Adelle Goodwin is a Lecturer at Curtin University's School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, affiliated with the Curtin Research Institute and Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy (CIRA). Her primary research focus is on astrophysical transients, particularly tidal disruption events (TDEs), X-ray binaries, and neutron star systems. She uses multi-wavelength observations (radio/X-ray/optical) to study black hole accretion physics, relativistic outflows, and transient phenomena.
Key research interests include analyzing TDE populations via eROSITA surveys, studying radio emission mechanisms in TDE outflows with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA), and investigating quasi-periodic eruptions in supermassive black hole systems. She has contributed to understanding neutron star binary dynamics, including kick distributions and accretion processes in systems like SAX J1808.4-3658.
Recent work highlights include identifying repeating TDE candidates, detecting radio flares in AT2020vwl, and analyzing X-ray quasi-periodic eruptions in galaxies like RX J1301.9+2747. Her publications demonstrate expertise in transient astronomy, multi-messenger observations, and computational astrophysical modelling.
