Franco Mosconi is an Associate Professor of Industrial Economics at the University of Parma, where he has taught since 2002-2003. He holds the Jean Monnet Chair in The Economics of European Industry and teaches across both the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Political Science. Additionally, he teaches European Industrial Policy at the European College of Parma and Media Economics at the University of Bologna's School of Journalism. He serves on the Organizing Committee of the Faculty of Political Science.
His research focuses on:
- Industrial economics and policy design
- European integration and industrial governance
- Media economics and information markets
- Network analysis of economic systems
- Historical development of industrial sectors
Recent publications analyze industrial policy frameworks, energy-commerce dynamics, community governance models, historical industrial development, and regional economic networks. This work consistently examines policy implementation, sectoral transformations, and institutional coordination within European contexts.
Mosconi graduated with honors in Economics from the University of Bologna and completed specialized studies at the London School of Economics. He has held significant institutional roles including Economic Advisor to Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi (1996-1998) and Official at the European Commission (1999-2001). He maintains active editorial involvement with l'Industria-Rivista di economia e politica industriale and contributes regularly to national publications like Corriere di Bologna.
