Franck Jovanovic is a Professor of Economics and Finance at TÉLUQ University, where he joined in May 2007 and achieved full professorship in 2012. His academic career spans multiple prestigious institutions including HEC Montréal, UQAM, York University, Université d'Évry, and Université Paris 1 – Sorbonne, with a visiting position at Leicester University School of Management from 2015-2016.
His research expertise focuses on financial economics with particular emphasis on offshore finance systems, tax havens, econophysics applications in finance, and the history of financial economics. Jovanovic has developed significant scholarly contributions at the intersection of economics, finance, and regulatory frameworks, with particular attention to the legal and ethical dimensions of international financial systems.
His research trajectory shows a consistent focus on offshore financial systems and tax havens, evolving from historical and theoretical foundations toward contemporary policy challenges. The publications reveal increasing attention to regulatory frameworks, transparency initiatives, and the economic implications of offshore financial centers, with recent work taking a more critical stance on the role of tax havens in global finance.
