معرفی
Franck Camerel is a CNRS Research Director at the University of Rennes 1, specializing in molecular chemistry and materials science. His work focuses on designing optically active metal-based molecules, liquid crystals, and stimuli-responsive materials for applications in optoelectronics, biotechnologies, and photothermal therapy.
Education:
- PhD in Chemistry (2001), University of Nantes, under Dr. Patrick Batail and Dr. Jean-Christophe Gabriel
- Postdoctoral research (2001–2003) at the Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPKG), Germany, with Prof. M. Antonietti and Dr. Charl Faul
Research Interests:
His research encompasses the synthesis of luminescent liquid crystals, metallomesogens, and functional gelators (organogelators/metallogelators) responsive to external stimuli (light, heat, magnetic/electrical fields). He develops materials for photothermal therapy, solar cells, sensors, and actuators. Key areas include supramolecular architectures, thin films, and photoresponsive elastomers.
Technical Expertise:
- Organic/inorganic chemistry, soft matter, and composite materials
- Advanced characterization: DSC, POM, SAXS (-200°C–350°C), and temperature-dependent fluorescence
- Photothermal measurements via the DELTALIGHT platform
Labs & Platforms:
Active at the University of Rennes 1’s ISCR laboratory, utilizing facilities like the DELTALIGHT photothermal platform and SAXS/WAXS lines.
