Dr Francis Gilchrist is a Reader and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at Keele University and the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. He holds roles including Paediatric Director of the North West Midlands Cystic Fibrosis Centre, Academic Editor for Thorax, and Deputy Chair of the West Midlands NIHR RfPB committee. His research focuses on lower respiratory infections, protracted bacterial bronchitis (PBB), and cystic fibrosis (CF), with 17 trials as Chief/Principal Investigator and over £450k in grants.
Education: MBBS (University of Manchester, 2002) and PhD (Keele University, 2014). Teaching includes Advanced Paediatric Life Support courses and undergraduate medical education, recognized with a Keele University Excellence in Clinical Teaching award.
