Francis Geronimo

Associate Professor Francis Geronimo is the Course Director and Head of Assessment for the Doctor of Medicine program at Charles Sturt University's School of Rural Medicine. He holds a BS MBB, MD, and PhD in Medicine from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and the University of Sydney. His professional journey includes roles at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of Notre Dame Australia School of Medicine Sydney, focusing on medical education, assessment design, and cardiovascular research.

Dr Geronimo's research interests span cardiovascular medicine, lipidology, and medical education innovation. He has pioneered teaching methodologies funded by grants, including digital media assessments and script concordance testing. His work in lipidology examines apolipoprotein A-IV's role in plaque stability and cardiovascular risk reduction.

As Deputy Medical Editor of the Medical Journal of Australia since 2015, he advocates for inclusive healthcare representation, particularly for Indigenous voices. Professional memberships include the Australia and New Zealand Association of Clinical Anatomists and Health Professional Educators.
