Dr. Kirtan Ganda is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney's Sydney Medical School, affiliated with the Concord Clinical School and the Faculty of Medicine and Health. He holds a PhD (2014) from the University of Sydney, an MBBS from UNSW (2000), and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP, 2010). His roles include Consultant Endocrinologist at Concord General Repatriation Hospital and Deputy Chair of the Osteoporosis Working Group under the Agency for Clinical Innovation.
Dr. Ganda’s research focuses on osteoporosis management, secondary fracture prevention, and clinical education. He has pioneered initiatives such as the Fracture Liaison Service, earning awards including the Sydney Local Health District Quality Award (2012) and the Amgen-ANZBMS Outstanding Abstract Award (2014). His work emphasizes improving healthcare delivery in primary care and aged care settings.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating medical student research projects, supervising endocrinology trainees, and contributing to FRACP examination preparation. He actively participates in setting endocrinology curricula and examination standards for Sydney medical students.
Current projects include developing position statements for secondary fracture prevention in Australia/New Zealand and enhancing minimum datasets for fracture prevention programs. His collaborative efforts span institutions like the Australian Diabetes Society and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research.
